Oan Kim & The Dirty Jazz is the musical alias of Franco-Korean saxophonist Oan Kim, a former student of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris and also a photographer-filmmaker (co-founder of the agency MYOP). Following a well-received self-titled debut in 2022, he presents Rebirth of Innocence, a second album recorded with a brand-new quintet and featuring special guest Gabi Hartmann. On this record, Oan Kim & The Dirty Jazz carve out a unique sonic universe blending jazz with folk-rock influences. Télérama describes Kim’s music as “a meeting point between Chet Baker and Portishead.” Balancing melancholy, sophistication, and freedom, the group combines rich textures, layered soundscapes, and expressive phrasing, exploring a jazz that is at once cinematic, deeply personal, and emotionally honest.
