Born in 1997 in Columbus, Ohio, Micah Thomas began playing piano at a very young age and gained early stage experience while still in high school before entering the Juilliard School, where he earned his Master’s degree in 2020. Today, he is a leading figure of the new generation, performing both as a bandleader and a sideman alongside artists such as Immanuel Wilkins, Joshua Redman, and Ambrose Akinmusire, while touring internationally. Praised from his debut album Tide (2020), he has continued to impress with his solo piano album Reveal and a large ensemble project, Mountains (2024). Honored as “Up-and-Comer of the Year” by The New York City Jazz Records and “Best International Artist” by Jazz News & Jazz Magazine, Micah Thomas has established himself as one of the most distinctive, brilliant, and promising voices in contemporary jazz piano.
